  1. "Putin's invasion..."? Dear oh dear. The Bank of England's performance over the past century, and more, has been dire. It has led us to the point today, at which the pound is worth 2% of what it was in 1913. The inflation it has indulged in, has reduced the wages/savings/pensions of all working people. This is not a natural phenomenon. The Bank of England should not be reformed, it should be disbanded.

"We should not be punished for the interests of bankers" It was the bankers who created our current episode of inflation, when they pulled the hundreds of billions of £££ out of the magician's hat to pay people not to go to work. They continue to pull tens of billions of £££ to supply weapons to Ukraine. All of these 'creations' are out of nothing. Every one of those £££ dilutes, diminishes the strength, the buying power of every £££ in our pockets. THAT is how inflation works, or more accurately, how it is made, and has throughout history been made, to do its work on people's standing wealth and on their ability to work to accrue wealth.
