  1. It's actually way past time to get rid of the Bank of England. Why does Britain need a central bank?

  2.  @markwelch3564  Why? We had a currency prior to 1694. The US had a currency prior to 1913.

  3.  @markwelch3564  The government can issue currency. No need whatsoever for an intermediary. Furthermore, the government apparatus set-up for the task would not be compelled to operate in the same way as does the BofE.
