"Economics is not alchemy" is an oddly chosen title for a video that then goes on to assert that governments can print as much "money" (actually, currency) as they like, out of nothing. They can of course do that very thing, courtesy of the fiat system that is the very embodiment of the belief that gold can be brought out of wishes. Governments have created greater volumes of their respective currencies out of thin air, and will do it some more as they see fit. However, the operation does not stop there; the consequences of such conjuring acts, are that the currencies are diluted - denuded in their buying power; and the ability to buy what we need is all we actually want from our use of money. The fiat system might be got-up to look nice and shiny but it is fools' gold.
