  1. "...models are designed to do a particular thing...". Things such as traumatising people into compliance? Keeping traders away from their customers so that they go out of business? What's that? There's a positive side to the work the modellers have put in? They let us have 'support bubbles' after their bizarre exponential and massively unfounded curves had done the work of shutting everyone in their homes for weeks on end? Whatever would we have done with that sterling effort eh? "What do you think SPI-M and SAGE really got right?" Everything they were tasked with, they got right. Their statistical histrionics put 68 million people into zombie mode. They managed to traumatise the public into a state whereby from this point onward they think of this and all future viral outbreaks as the one that is going to kill them and therefore all of society and the economy that feeds them should be locked-down, regardless of any other factor or cost. Poor Dr Brooks Pollock comes over as a very lovely but uncomfortable person - the one who drew the short straw in the SPI-M zoom meeting.
