Back in March when I believed the virus might be dangerous to me and my family, I was highly suspicious when the health people here (Hancock) and in the US (Fauci) stated repeatedly that masks were ineffective in stopping viral spread. I checked this out by google. The first ten listings were studies from various sources which, to my great surprise, were unanimous - the advice was correct: masks don't work. I resolved not to wear a mask. Then in the summer, the authorities changed tack to say that masks should be worn in certain places. I got into discussions on this, insisting that the science did not support the use of masks. I was challenged to provide evidence and duly returned to google. Mysteriously, the first ten articles which my search returned, were all studies, all concluded that mask-wearing does help in slowing viral spread. All of these studies were published in June and July 2020. Strange that such a turn-around should occur right at the time when the mask edict was issued?
