Reference is made to the Soviet Union that was disbanded over thirty years ago. All Russian economic figures are held to be fictional; so are we to believe everything that comes out of the US Treasury and the Fed'? The basic motivator here seems to be a virulent hatred of Russia and Russians, based on deep-seated personal ethnic history. This precludes you from making any fair and objective assessment of the current situation. The whole of Russia is portrayed as a land populated by turnip-seeking paupers; these are the people whose sons have been sent to the front armed with shovels and firing missiles - including their Tsirkon hypersonics that evade everything the US has to offer - guided by washing machine circuit boards. I wonder if an 'academic economist' in Russia would not be able to afford to pay for his house repairs?
