Some conflicts end in agreement, but others end when one side has taken away the ability of their opponents to continue the fight. That stage is coming into view, with Russia's advances increasing in pace due to the operations of the past couple of years having severely ground-down the effectiveness of Ukrainian forces. This is despite the best efforts of the US and wider Western support. Why would Russia concede anything at this stage?
