"...the cost of living's going up, that means inflation..." Sounds like a perfect inversion of the actual dynamic. Two years of printing funny money to the tune of trillions, is by definition, inflation. Given that stunt, the rise in the cost of living is pretty much baked-in.

Oresome insight.

She's really good, but: she fudged the Klaus Schwab/MMT/faux communism question. Also, she demeans the holding of gold as against the holding of dollars, by referring to effects of inflation. The inflation she observes is more just the price rise consequence of the real inflation: the real thing that's happening to dilute dollars: that burrrrr noise that can only get louder.

Brilliant commentator, BUT. Again, someone blaming covid for a problem that it did not cause. Covid was never prevalent enough to stop China from filling its ships. China chose to lockdown and that is what held up the logistic chain. When China lifted lockdown, as stated by Mr Macleod, they simply rolled over the virus and got on with business. As a result, they are the one economy that has managed to grow during 2020. Contrast with western economies whereby the lockdowns have remained in place.

Great authority on all things financial but he's wrong on the vaccines. AMacL describes the situation as badly managed. In truth, the vaccines are being very expertly managed so as not to provide the lifting of lockdowns. The public wants them lifted; the leaders are determined they must stay in place until the small/medium business sector is snuffed-out. The promise of vaccines was a very powerful tool in getting the public to accept this most horrible of winters. Now that they are here they must not be allowed to actually change anything. Nowhere near any return of freedom.
