  8. No-one has offered the Russians everything they want. The Russians want security from the ever encroaching NATO. That's not been offered. She insists any agreement cannot work without Europe and Ukraine being party to talks. Perhaps she is right but wasn't it just last year, prior to their accepting the reality on the battlefield, that the Europeans were happy to hold peace talks to which Russia was not invited?

Those who constitute the EU have no-one to blame but themselves, in that they have allowed people like Kallas, who display their vacuousness in every interview, to occupy their positions of power. They have been completely wrong-footed by the incoming US administration; seemingly unable to re-orient so as to deal with new realities. It's really quite gratifying to see them flailing around in the water.

  18. So powerful that it's taken them three years and a rebuke from the US, to bother rousing themselves when the Ukraine army has already been reduced to a shadow of its former self. Yet still, all they propose is to bung billions of euro and some of their defunct equipment over there so that Ukrainian troops can be sent to die like so many before, while this lot go back to their plush, comfortable homes and see how their stocks and bonds are doing. Shameful, baleful, spineless, cosseted fools.
