I don't think you are being mean or irrational; I think you have the situation pretty much described as it is. I'm not a fan of cities but the one city I would love to visit is NY - just seems like there is a general attitude of no nonsense pragmatism, and that appeals to me. Looks like it's fat-cutting time for commercial property dealers in NY, at least for a while and until we get over the Corona scam. Wish you all the best, good luck.
