  1. This is how it will go from here. Next Monday's announcement will be a weasel-worded notice of a tightly restricted regime of tiers, the effect of which will be to further kill off pubs and restaurants by forcing them to provide inhospitality to their small number of customers. Masks and social distancing will still be very much in force. Travel will still be restricted. Gatherings will be limited. Cinemas and other entertainment venues will be severely hampered by audience numbers being restricted. The general feeling will be that we are under lockdown while the media will hail the changes as being some kind of re-opening. This will be the routine right up to the autumn when the respiratory death figures return to put us all into full lockdown for the duration of the winter. No Christmas once again.
