  1. Something sinister in the way the term 'hate crime' is being used. I read the initial report of a recent street stabbing in London, which seemed to go out of its way to point out that it wasn't a 'hate crime'. The blood of the victim seems to be somehow diminished in relevance by such ugly, pointless and actually, offensive categorisation.
