  1. The tests pick up positive 'cases' of coronavirus fragments. That includes remnants of that cold you had a couple of years ago. In any January prior to 2020, if we had tested as we are now and to the same extent, we would have generated the same figures that look so fearful on Mr Whitty's graphs. We have now been weaned onto the 'new normal' of being scared shitless by the common cold.
