Deadly viruses are around and amongst us every year; one of them is flu and it kills tens of thousands every year. The recent revelation from the ONS informs us that since the start of the pandemic, the number of people who have actually died OF covid with no other health issues, has been fewer than 18,000 - obviously some of them would have been very elderly. A bad flu year takes 80,000, many of them children. So in what way were any of the lockdown measures warranted?
