Inflation is way higher than the narrative would have us believe. It will be kept in place as it is, until the working and middle-class have been stripped of any wealth they have stored. The 'pandemic' such as it was, was never the cause of any economic downturn - it was simply not capable of damaging economic activity. The ineffective and thus totally unnecessary lockdowns put in place by governments did all that. The 'second wave' and now the Ukraine war are convenient stages by which hardship is made to appear unavoidable and permanent. We are only in year three of the thirteen-year plan.
