If a CBDC is linked, as you say it is, to a fiat currency, then how does it retain its value if the fiat currency is degraded by the currency expansion so beloved of governments the world over and throughout history? Given our current situation, whereby Western governments at least, are leaning towards authoritarian rule; we can look forward to our every transaction being dictated to us. We will be allowed a certain amount only; we will be allowed to spend only so much and to save only as much as government sees fit. We will be able to spend on only certain products in designated locations. In short, our money will cease to be our own to do with as we please. CBDC is eternal slavery for the human race. Keep cash and, even better, hold precious metals and buckle-up.
