@loloutplays5232 I'm sure many Ukrainians that have been barred from leaving their country and forced to fight against Russia would have said the same.

@nagillim7915 NATO is most certainly not "solely a military mutual defence alliance." Ask Russia, Libya, and Serbia. And not only is not just defensive. It's also the military arm of the woke cultural agenda, which is a big part of what motivates NATO to act as much more than just a defensive alliance.

I don't agree with the association of woke-ism with Protestantism, especially not in the American context. Although New England like pretty much all the original 13 colonies was originally very Protestant, New England and the Northeast have for over a century been the part of the United States with the highest percentage of Catholics. The South (Southeast) is comparatively the most Protestant/least Catholic and the most anti-woke portion of the country.

@Nikblaster1980 Even if Libya wasn't a "full NATO campaign," whatever that means, NATO flew tens of thousands of sorties over Libya. Whatever NATO was doing there it most certainly wasn't "solely" in the role of "a military mutual defence alliance." NATO's involvement in Libya was certainly not about defending NATO countries. Likewise, the fact that the air war NATO conducted against Serbia was UN-sanctioned doesn't change the facts I noted. And no matter where the blame lies in Ukraine, that doesn't in any way change the facts that NATO is heavily involved in a war between Ukraine and Russia, neither of which countries are members of NATO. That obviously means NATO's role in Ukraine is not "solely" that of "a military mutual defence alliance."

@Nikblaster1980 "...completely irrelevant to the legitimacy of..." Did I say anything about the legitimacy of anything? No, I didn't. Why do you feel the need to repeatedly deflect from the simple fact that NATO isn't "solely a military mutual defence alliance"?

@crowe6961 In any case, everything I said about NATO is entirely true.

As Solzhenitsyn said, "More than half a century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing a number of older people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: 'Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.' "Since then I have spent well-nigh 50 years working on the history of our Revolution; in the process I have read hundreds of books, collected hundreds of personal testimonies, and have already contributed eight volumes of my own toward the effort of clearing away the rubble left by that upheaval. But if I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the main cause of the ruinous Revolution that swallowed up some 60 million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: 'Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.'"

@Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg Europe is not a real continent. If you're going to divide Eurasia geographically, why use the Urals instead of the Himalayas? The Urals don't even form a national border and historically often haven't either.

But it's only the cultural West that has embraced the West's sexual perversions, not other rich countries like Japan and South Korea.

I'm curious, if I can ask a random Pole this question, why you think Poland and Hungary have taken notably different stances with regards to the Russo-Ukrainian war? Poland, at least as far as I can discern from American media, seems to be the most hawkish country in Europe, and Hungary seems to be among the least hawkish.

@IceSpiceNationalist It may be that more people identify as Christians in France or Germany, and there may be an especially large percentage of people in the Czech Republic that never go to church, but weekly church attendance in the Czech Republic, even though very low by American standards, is higher than in France or Germany.

I know pretty much nothing about the demographics of Bulgaria over the last 30 years. What's Bulgaria's demographic story?

@FOLIPE All of the United States is traditionally Protestant, but the North became majority Catholic and the South remained overwhelmingly Protestant. If any line is going to be drawn between Protestant and Catholic parts of the US, the North clearly is the part that would have to be considered Catholic. Associating it with Protestantism more so than the South is completely backwards.
1
@FOLIPE Virginia is the oldest of all the US states. The primary author of the Declaration of Independence was a Virginian. The father of the US Bill of Rights was another Virginian. The lead author of the constitution was yet another Virginian. 4 of the first 5 US presidents came from Virginia. Virginia in 1776 was far more populous than any northern state. As of the first census in 1790, Virginia and North Caroline were both (individually) more populous than any northern state, and Virginia and North Carolina together (not even counting the other southern states) were more populous than Massachusetts and the 5 other New England states put together. It's the South and particularly Virginia that represents the core of American civilization.

@Nik29austria Including Russia? Do you think Russian resistance to getting woke will be any more effective than eastern European?
1
As someone who has settled in and identifies with the American South, I can especially sympathize with the peoples of central/eastern Europe that have historically been dominated by surrounding empires. I guess it's also not a coincidence that the American South likewise has embraced woke ideology less than other parts of the US, although unlike Europe where the most woke countries are the most Protestant, the American South is the most Protestant part of the US and also less woke.

If a country as old school as Russia can foster the communist revolution, why not?
