  5. American you are just being silly now. On average, every day more than 8 million people fly. In 2013 total passenger numbers were 3.1 billion—surpassing the 3 billion mark for the first time ever. That number is expected to grow to 3.3 billion in 2014 (equivalent to 44% of the world's population). How many of these could afford to fly on a Concord type plane or even how many Concorde types are needed to fly this many? The technology and economies of scale to achieve your demand must be light years away! The airline industry is a barometer of the global economy and is the first to suffer when ever anything happens! It's been through some horrendous times with more to come I'm sure. The industry changes all the time - so there it will never be RIP.
