This has two sides - sure it's a good thing to not have the kids distracted. On the other hand, who knows what indoctrination goes unreported from lack of a means to document it.

@GlennMantle I did - difference was I knew when to use it and when not to - this lack of discipline on the parent's part and pointing blame at the tech is part and package of why this generation is worse off than the one before it.

@GlennMantle Less ideologically subverted teachers you mean, but subverted nonetheless. What we were taught in schools more subtly then than now is to be smart enough to work the machines and do the work and to be just dumb enough to passively accept what we're told by a "perceived authority" on the grounds they're perceived as being.

@GlennMantle The role of a teacher is to teach the subject of expertise - Math, English, Science. NOT morality and matters of working as a team. That's the duty of the parent.
