@carolewynn9407 I'm aware of the difference between coma and brain death, but we still don't understand every aspect of the brain therefore have no full grasp of the extent of their awareness.

It doesn't take a doctor to determine that putting your hand in a fire will leave you with burns - as such it doesn't take a "professional" to determine ones life or value of it. Professionals are there with the answers that they know - who knows what one hears or thinks in a coma except the patient, but that does not mean we are without the right to opinion when we push for it. What do I know about this? I've had to pull the plug on my loved ones before - one barely a year ago and it never gets easy.
