Are you serious?! You can't depend on the government for jack! The government's role was never to 'look after the people' their role was simply to establish laws justifiable to the sustainability of the nation. Having demonstrating that it's a failed notion - government proves itself as nothing more then a distraction for the weak minded, lazy and complacent masses that keep finding reason to complain about the actions, or lack thereof, of government and yet keep giving their consent via the vote to do so on behalf of the establishment who actually run things... and they only have their own interest in mind.
