  1.  @Dustin-65  Yeah, good luck with that. No other predator has as high a success rate with mice and rats as a cat and rodents are quick to become resistant to poisons and smart enough to avoid certain traps until then. So it's either the cats or the rodents - you decide.

  2.  @828enigma6  And they equally kill more mice and rats that eat the eggs of those birds thus keeping the equilibrium in check.

  3. Yeah the last time they tried that, the rodents population exploded and they culled far more then what the cats that kept the rodents in check ever could.
