  2. And reading a whole years worth of this horseshit has only further intensified my misanthropy. You're all being used - two things sell better then anything in this world. One is sex and the other is fear. In this case the fear if not having something. How many times have they said they're running out? How many times now have they been proven OH so wrong? As for all the tree hugging pretentious dullards who go on and on about "using something else" I'm all ears - what exactly? Electricity? Sure, but HOW are you going to generate it? Hydro? Yeah at high tide and God forbid a drought dries up a river. Not to mention the amount of energy and resources needed to maintain, fix and replace the parts... which would take OIL. Solar? Another interesting one - OK when you're in unblemished sunlight with top of the mill panels - which it would take space comparable to the Sahara to just power a small European country for the daylight hours... the chemicals in their creation, toxic and unstable and can't be just discarded. Then they have to be replaced... using oil. Wind? Unstable as you can't control or predict it - countless times they're proven to be too flimsy and break requiring maintenance... with Oil - not to mention PETA having a field day with all the birds killed while flying through the blades. Nuclear sounds reasonable...oh wait, one need only remembers Chenobyl... despite the fact that was due to human error on site and the use of cheap material in the reactor: graphite instead of lead. Which means it'd be expensive as hell unless of course oil is used along side... And then I hear calls for depopulation? So who's volunteering for metaphorical genocidal seppuku through sterilisation? No one? Didn't think so. Once again my misanthropy gets worse at the thoughtlessness of the paranoid and the uncritical.
