Labour do what Labour do but in the words of Thomas Sowell - "The fact our politicians are such blatant liars isn't just a testament of their character, but a reflection of we as a society. When the people demand the impossible, it's only the liars who satisfy." Labour would never have done anything had people turned and said no.

@keithrose6931 the reason why they didn't know is because the last few generations have been indoctrinated more and more into a state where they A, can't or won't do their own research and come to their own conclusions. B, are afraid to stand out in a crowd through peer pressure shaming their differences in view And C, if they see their neighbours have the Stazi kick their door down, they don't care until the Stazi come knocking at theirs. So there was always the means to know or find out, but people have become weak, lazy and complacent; easier and easier prey for those from either Labour or these Tories.

@keithrose6931 that's lazyness - people like freedom but not responsibility that comes with it. The moment you hand power to someone else to speak for you - especially in politics, you're only counting down to 'when' and not 'if' they'll start using that to their own advantage and justify it upon your trust in them. At which they can either set in stone the arrangement, or guilt you into your accountability for their actions; look at what's happening now.

The straight answer is that each person needs to learn a deal of personal responsibility for their calls and choices - when it comes to voting; actually do your homework and think hard before going with it. And should your vote get in; have them always know that you voted them in and not the other way around.
