I can empathise, though I trust that your walking away from the denomination has not circumvented your truth in Him. For He is the absolute final word, not the organiser of what's essentially a cult in a different name.

Depends on the nature of the divorce. In this case clearly he ought to have been shunned - but then I have little trust in the judgment of organised denominations who have made a living in His name.

Divorce is still permitted in biblical law - however the grounds for such are limited: abandonment, actual harm and adultery are the only three i can espouse for this and the one who divorces on these grounds is by His law permitted to marry again, the one who is divorced from, can not.

To paraphrase "Should two or more speak of me, I am there also." Buildings and organised denominations are for the bombastic and self-catering preying on the desperate and unwary.
