My heart goes to him - my grandfather felt the same way. He passed in 2009 at the age of 83 - after being drafted in to service in 1943 - in spite of only being 17 years old at the time, he fought alongside countless who came back in several pieces and in many cases - not at all. Serving in the push against the reich after D-day before being sent over to Burma and after being deployed to Nagasaki barely two weeks after they dropped the nuke to assist the Americans, was just dropped off in Australia because the British Empire was utterly bankrupt and couldn't afford to bring many; him included home. He spent two years saving up to get himself back; family thought him dead and after many times talking to him about things until his final year - he eventually said "I don't know why we even bothered." And this again was back in the 2000s before it really ramped up... he'd be beyond despair in current year, so I thank Him above for relieving the man of that burden.
