When the best a ruler can do is offer convenient rationalisation for their inability to perform when they should, it leads to question whether the role is apt for keeping at all. What makes my eyes roll however that instead of the people looking to actually solve the problem and cleanse the rot - they would rather rejoin the EU and reapply the bandage to cover the denial! A house without foundations will inevitably collapse and unless the UKs prepared to do what actually needs to be done and not the delusion of rejoining said failed bloc - it will collapse completely.

With our pound backed by debt, not gold - it's a continuous cycle of owing which can only be exacerbated as it continues. Government debt is also our debt - who else pays into the coffers if not the tax payer. If money can just be printed out of thin air as it is these days since quantative easing can only work on value of older currency and the last gold backed pound has already been inflated 25,000 times already, tax is unwarranted - but as they say nothing comes from nothing. So what's the value based on. I don't ignore it, but I don't let myself be credulous in thinking any other party would do any different when they ultimately answer to the same establishment. The party banners are merely colour changes to distract the populace from the reality. I hold a low esteem of humanity, not myself. I'm egotistic I can admit, but far from the realms of reality as those who blindly think someone is going to come and solve all their problems would.

You can blame the "elite" all you like, but the first one you need to blame is yourself if you are among the many who let them get there. And let's face it had Remain won, anyone complaining would be told "Sit down and shut up, democracy has spoken" it's 'misinformation's fault' when it doesn't go their way and democracy when it does. It's all a con and you KNOW it.

  843.  @kbspark  On the contrary I've never voted for anyone; I'll be represented by noone other than myself. And frankly the only ones who should be angry at the likes of government who enabled Frost and Cummings, are the people who ticked the box at any given election - for doing so they accepted in the submission of authority over them. And if any voter has someone to be angry at, they need only look in the mirror because they chose to give it up in the first place. My reasons? To name three - first we didn't abolish an empire simply to annex into another in all but name; it's lunacy in the hypocrisy. Second, our fighting men risked it all opposing a tyranny and I find no nobility in joining the successor of the very one that they died defying. Thirdly, I don't even acknowledge our own government as demonstrated as my refusal to tick for anyone elected, so to think I'd silently bow to bureaucrats in Europe is beyond comical.

They're never going to need to pay it cause they'd ultimately just be paying themselves. And if called to pay more they simply change the name to give the impression of changing things when nothing ever does.
