Quite simple as to why - in the short term, it's easier. Easy money or validation in the short term with little prospect long term. but the folk of these last two generations, so far, have never been taught; for ALL their 'education' the importance of long term planning and so in turn are being set up to fail. Education and aspirations are one thing, intelligence and prospective are another.

@yourstrulychaos947 Well she can either accept her future alone with little to show for it with shamed dignity or with regret and shame. That's entirely up to her - but either way, it's rather bleak.

@JCmeister9 However they must be prepared to accept the responsibility of those choices along with the consequences. Let's be honest - she's got five years left tops, before her appeal fades; with the next fresh face looking to take the stage, leaving this lass with nothing. Her career will be over and no other industry will be there as a prospect. She won't have much luck in relationships either as what man wants to be left with the scraps and having to work himself to the bone for barely a fraction of what she gave complete strangers for free. Im not able to see the future, but the signs are unambiguous - her later years are going to have her be miserable and alone and she will only have herself to blame.

Society let's be honest, is the great illusion in that people believe they're living because of others and others are living because of them. The reality is that the few who learn this to be complete larceny and so exploit this folly are those who wind up at the top. History, no matter what period, shows that this course is continuous; only the details change.
