And it's not as if they're much better themselves.

@Klongu_Da_Bongu Maybe not, but they've sure pioneered to perfecting such. Now they won't tolerate anything other than themselves. Which in their own lands is a given, but they then stretch into ours and force us to accept it - lest our own weak society scornfully turn on its own.

@Klongu_Da_Bongu Repeating the mistakes of the past after forgetting them is about the only thing humanity truly excels at. And my perspective of which you claim your family would not agree to, comes from my own who also did: great grandmother escaped Germany in 32 just before my grandmother was born whilst the remainder of the family remained...and you can imagine the rest. my grandfather in 43 at only 17 years old was drafted to defend the UK before being taken over to Burma where he ended up being taken as a prisoner by the Japanese, almost lost his arm during his "tenure" and then after the whole thing was over, the UK government abandoned him and everyone else in Australia to either fend for themselves or otherwise. When he managed to get back four years after that, everyone thought he'd been KIA. And after all he saw and witnessed, lived with after, he lived to be 83 and I remember him saying; VERY lucid in mind, that he wondered why he'd even bothered with the way this world had turned and taken everything set down for granted.

@Klongu_Da_Bongu Those wars were about the only thing that kept the grit of men still in place. Let's face it, since 45; we've really not had much in the way of serious ordeal - each generation has gotten softer then the last and in that softness we've become primarily inept. What's truly important we neglect and what should be dismissed as lunacy, we strive to deem important. Leaving us thus vulnerable to the sort that almost conquered us almost a millennium ago.

Not just outraged. Flat out disgusted. As if the human race didn't have enough reasons for me to spurn it already...
