@JeroenJA I won't speak for the MPs but I will speak for myself and why I voted to Leave - because I stand by the fact a country should be answerable to its own people, not someone else's. Had the EU remained a trading bloc without the political establishment in its centre - we would have stayed. But no, they wanted to be the United States of Europe; well no, we fought off a wannabe Ceasar in the 30s and 40s: I'd be damned if I'd ever vote to answer to one.

@davids8127 we didn't abolish the largest empire on earth just to annex ourselves into another one; the successor to the monstrous atrocity we fought six long years to defy. We Brits; the English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish had identity once; we stood for something and despite the elitist pomp that was then as it is now our established powers - we STILL proved our mettle on our own terms. Something to which cowards, sellouts and puppets only seem to want undone and gone. You would give up the feast in exchange for the scraps from Brussels. Well I voted Brexit and I'd damn well do it again.

@leftwingersareweak you nailed it. He wasn't radical - he said what he thought and thought what he said. And unlike most presidents in the last 50 years, he actually went out of his way to fulfil his pledges: hell in parts of the border states now democrat they're actually going out of their way to finish their part of that wall on their own!

@frusia123 psh they said the same thing prior to WWI - UK, France and Russia on one side, Germany, Austria-Hungary on the other. The idea being that one sides combined army would be too large to challenge at war. Course it turned out to be bollocks, Austria declared war on Serbia, Russia on Austria, Hungary naturally on Russia, France on the combined Austria-Hungary, Germany on France and then Britain on Germany; the whole thing fell to bits. And now you say there's peace? 😃 and prosperity?! 😂 Greece is pretty much bankrupt and politically at the table under Germany's foot for backing, Spain's not looking too good either, Sweden is inundated with invaders who they took in kindly and were exploited, Hungary and Poland are defying for their sovereignty which Brussels keeps penalising them for and Italy looks like they're just about ready to leave. Learn to read the situation, think smart, not sheep.

@frusia123 yep to the jackboot goosestepping, right arm jousting, opportunist, reckless bleeding hearts who think we can all hold hands and be "owne bigu happeh fwamiwy" it's pathetic. Not that I give any credence to the Tories - they're out for themselves just as always. I had a bit more respect for them in earlier generations because at least they were tad more honest about it. The EU is far from prosperous mate; it's one and only pro - if you can even call it that is that you don't need a passport to walk from Portugal to Poland: a weak argument for sure to justify the submission of sovereignty of any sort. The argument for "equality" - which your argument for "common" people at least indicates you realise this, if you want to try that one is a open and close one for me: it doesn't exist - never had, doesn't still and never will: the world owes each and every one of us nothing and it demands anything and everything we let it and everyone within it and I utterly refuse to submit any sovereignty for the delusion of prospetity or security: to do so is to be undeserving of any and to lose all of it. To answer your question on prosperous - 200+ sovereign states in the world - about 150 I could name. Not many in the EU though - seeing how farmers are being forced out of their livelihood due to the delusions, with the face of the movement being the little clueless brat we're expected to hail as the second coming.
