Allow me to ask this - to those calling "Conspiracy Theorists" define Conspiracy: A course of action undertaken by an individual, or plural individuals with planned intent. As such, if being a theorist about courses of action is such a negative then my question is this: What do you think an investigator or detective does for a living?

@Scotty674 prepare and be ready to accept that with freedom comes responsibility and accountability. "The fact that so many successful politicians are such shameless liars is not only a reflection on them, it is also a reflection on us. When the people are made to want the impossible, only liars can satisfy" according to Thomas Sowell.

@benjicool2808 I'm sorry? Twisting the facts and truths to suite a narrative? Last I checked - that's what politicians do to get into and further into power. And what defense and prosecution lawyers do for a living. And let us not forget that "data" has and will be smudged by someone determined enough to get their way - even science can be bought. Well ladies and gentlemen I can't say I blame defenders of a mainstream looking to silence all narratives but their own for trying.

@benjicool2808 I gave one example whereas I can give several. And using Norway as an example is a moot point; for two reasons - 1, they're millionaires with no ability to actually use the money as they wish - which essentially means they're one tyrant away from those savings being lost and 2, their currency unlike ours isn't based on debt: Brown saw to that when he sold off the gold to China in 07. Our currency is borrowed with interest so we essentially run on debt. How can you pay a debt off with money that is afloat because of it? Short answer is you don't. This generation will for the most part never retire. They'll either work till they drop or essentially be at the mercy of the looming social credit system which will punish people for their disobedience to those they're supposed to represent - look how they're silencing anyone criticising them with the punishment for journalists speaking out to "embarrass" them. Sic Semper Tyrannis. And it all starts with the removal of freedoms people take for granted. And for the record - I do my own homework; not just accept testimonies from Facebook - which I've not had an account with for the longest time, or the status quo who pursuit their careers in politics to fill their back pockets on people's ignorance.

@MrKyle7424 not to interrupt, but I agree. Hence people should think more for themselves and be critical in their forming of opinions and in their decisions. And to not be so incredulous in obeying everything government says simply because they're government. As Reagan once said "As government expands, liberty contracts."

@MrKyle7424 indeed - didn't stop him being right to say it though.

@byronfoppola8676 fully agreed with you, however the other end of the spectrum is really no different. If everyone were to be treated 'equally' someone would have to enforce it yes? Meaning not only is the notion of equality redundant from the start, but the thought that the one enforcing it is always going to be noble and altruistic? - is the thought of a simple mind when the reality is their agenda would prove no different then the capitalists . Ultimately the problem isn't either principle it's people. I've gotten quite comfortable with the virtue that if you want something you have to bloody well earn it with hard work; you're handed nothing. But people always want something for nothing or as little as possible and thus the cycle continues. No wonder I embrace misanthropy so marvelously.

@metothemoon1227 absolutely, or you could just call the term what it actually is - doublespeak and in this case "conspiracy theory" translates to the reality that the ones in charge don't want the masses to acknowledge, as it's to the few's detriment.

@benjicool2808 and just how many governments have been outed for outright lying to their voters? Weapons of Mass Destruction - ring bells? The only weapons Iraq had were those Thatcher and Reagan sold then back in the 80s. Everyone knew it but we went on a lie and resulted in a massacre leading to a state far worse. So why isn't Blair in prison for what's essentially a war crime? I can give you more examples but you'll in the end serve to only try and justify the motion for people to stop thinking for themselves and just accept what they're told. Hell tyrants would have hell of a time if people stopped abusing the idea of not doing politics aside from when they feel 'offended'. But I'll let you think about this: if the words of a fool make him a fool then why silence him? Surely the truth will come to light and prove the false - looking to just silence any dissenters and opposing views serves only to give them a justification. So tell me - if the facts we're being told are absolute and can't be controverted: why worry?
