Then after Peter the Great, capital moved to St. Petersburg. It is always the same state. Then after Lenin it moved to Moscow again. As for modern Ukraine since Golden Horde was destroyed by Russia it was occupied and heavily populated by Poland, than Napoleon conquered whole Poland and then Ukraine was recaptured along with Poland itself by Russian empire. After that Lenin gave independence to core Poland state, then after WW2 eastern part of Poland was attached to Ukraine.

Boris Johnson flew to Kiev and seduced Zelensky for war with Russia after March 2022, when peace agreement was signed in Turkey, Putin commanded russian troops out of Kiev in exchange of Ukraine dropped NATO member ambitions. Now Britain suffered from war in Ukraine that was stopped in 2022 and continued again at the aid of Britain itself. Boris Johnson thought he had a chance to win. That was not due to Russia that was due to Britain and Germany and France strategic fault.
