MEAN WORLD SYNDROME: A bias where people perceive the world to be more dangerous than it actually is due to exposure to violence related content on mass media.
MASS HYSTERIA: A condition affecting a group of persons, characterized by excitement or anxiety, irrational behavior or beliefs, or inexplicable symptoms of illness.
FEAR MONGERING: The action of deliberately arousing public fear or alarm about a particular issue.
FREE COUNTRY: A country that protects the civil liberties of its citizens; a country whose government is not tyrannical.
CIVIL LIBERTY: Being subject only to laws established for the good of the community, especially with regard to freedom of action and speech.
OPPOSITIONAL DEFIANT DISORDER: A display pattern of negative, hostile, and defiant behavior that includes lose of temper, arguing with family or coworkers and the capability to comply with rules or laws.
DEPRIVATION OF RIGHTS: A federal crime that is used against the police when they use their power to violate a person's rights under the United States Constitution.
LIBERTY: The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.
JURY NULLIFICATION: Generally occurs when members of a criminal trial jury believe that a defendant is guilty, but choose to acquit the defendant anyway.
AUTHORITARIAN: A “human” that favors or enforces strict obedience to authority, especially that of the government, at the expense of personal freedom.
BUZZWORD: A word or phrase, often an item of jargon, that is fashionable at a particular time or in a particular context.
POWER TRIP: A sustained and often aggressive exercise by a human of power over other humans in order to boost one's stature or feelings of self worth.
VIRTUE SIGNALING: The action or practice of publicly expressing opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's “good” character or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue.
