Ever ride the little elevator down to the morgue at Methodist? I had a security guard pull his gun cause he was afraid of zombies. That elevator will screw you up.

@Greg-yu4ij oh I assure most are. I worked at Methodist north campus… we had SIX gun shot wounds all at the same time get brought in. I had a sixteen year old kid walk in with half his skull gone. But that’s not the issue. MOST violent acts are what they have next to them, lamp, chair, and my personal favorite: A can of green beans in a pillow case.

@scotthays347 - It’s a SMALL (if the patient is on a table you have to sit them up! There was a special bed we used) one light elevator that’s electric. It has cages on both sides and it’s a brick exposed shaft… with one light bulb. ONE light bulb. Then the morgue opens (it’s straight out of Resident Evil) and then you put the guy in a drawer. That was the easy part, the JARS of humans and parts of humans was REALLY unsettling.

@internetcensure5849 - The person who was upset the most that I left was my dad. Everyday after work he would call and want the stories. Can of green beans in a pillow case I thought was original. The bum who dropped a cinder block on his toes and then didn’t take off his shoes for two weeks was interesting. I had to explain to a lawyer why I didn’t cut his shoes off, cause when I took the shoe off the toes stayed in….!

Everyone I know knows where this is? The worlds shortest suspension bridge is right there. It’s also where the flood disaster happened.

Live next to Gary, worked at Methodist. This is gonna be fine

@tellucas - I live next door. It’s an industrial city. At least they are trying to make it that way. Lot of the abandoned buildings are being demolished. Some streets have maybe three well kept homes and the rest are empty lots. The Hardrock Casino just came to Gary, so that’s going to change things. Plus they reopened the skyway bridge.

@themfingmfer - I wouldn’t expect anything for the community. The funds from the casino and what’s left of the mills is being directed to corporate interests. The housing with the exception of Miller and Black Oak is being phased out completely. As it should be. There’s pockets of neighborhoods that will remain but the majority of the ghetto is being demolished. No one’s taking care of their property, typically cause the occupants don’t own it, they rent it, so there’s no incentive to improve the property or even maintain it.
