  4. There is no risk in going to Taiwan. China can't do shit militarily. There's too much corruption and too many scandals among senior officers, too many disputes between provinces and too much paralysis federally, in addition to having basically zero combat testing of their equipment or troops. There is no plausible scenario for them to invade Taiwan and posturing like they might is the best they can manage. Seriously, it is all for show. Just look at the contrast between how strong Russia looked before and after the 'special military operation'. China is even more of a paper tiger than that, with far less domestic stability. Which is really saying something considering the extensiveness of their surveillance state and the internal chaos in Russia now. It's a bigger gap than the one between their supposed 'Belt and Road initiative', and the fact that they just ran out of places in China to build gigantic ghost towns that prop up their economy, and needed it to sound like something other than a wasteful sham. The idea that there's a coordinated project that will be transformative for trade is really just that, an idea.
