  2. The candidates are older than dirt yeah, obviously, but stating their ages contributes what exactly to the conversation? Age has been front and center for months. It can't be focus. Everyone knows what dementia is, even if they're too partisan to see which candidate is probably ill. So the stakes are already clear. Assessing candidate fitness requires no mention of age. Either someone is fit or unfit. Alzheimer's at any age is equally bad, e.g at 40. Jon validated emotions and we're supposed to be what, grateful, impressed?
