@DrSourPurp Manipulating people with media is not "rigging" an election. The rest is inaccurate. Elections Canada is nonpartisan. It decides on polling stations and on counting machines if they are used. Apparently they are not. Never seen a voting machine personally, and I do live in a major city.

@jordanmoors607 As annoying as media distortions are, I think they fall under freedom of the press. It seems to be more of a cultural issue than a legal one.

@jordanmoors607 Governments lied then media outlets repeated the lie. One could say that they were aware it was a lie, but I have no way of knowing that. It could just as easily be that they didn't care if it was true or were incompetently naive. There's no way to build a case without a whistleblower, because only the executive branch directly knew it was bs, and even then it's on shaky ground without documentation they never needed to create. In any event, justifying a war and being partisan during an elections are not really comparable...ultimately people just need to learn skepticism. Fact checking is never someone else's responsibility. We all need to be vigilant.
