fighting the establishment was a better play than being the establishment, who knew?

That's reductive. There are definitely things outside their control, like global inflation or supply chain issues resulting from major wars. It's still up to the government to make the economy fair and they barely even tried.

It was open, it just selected Biden who then dropped out

She didn't even promises anything that would rise to the moment. There was no shortage of options but they went with a tepid defense of a broken system instead. It was time to be FDR, not a bland corpo drifting to the right.

as if the messaging wasn't bland enough already 'we won't be dictators' should go without saying but somehow that was their target

there needs to be an actual working class party

@jbanders2358 You're assuming they aren't involved at any other time, or trying to support other options until they reach the federal trolley problem every four years. Expecting others to be engaged with the process doesn't preclude someone from doing the work. Quite the opposite is true.

@Videomorgue People can get lost in rebutting rightwing rhetoric and forget to criticize the economy from the left as much as they should, sure, but part of doing the work is to fix that.

@meertillman9718 literally not what happened tho

@dazd91 They had 4 years to do something substantial about it. They had an entire year to make campaign promises. Democrats dropped the ball. That's true. You're just too stuck in 'us vs them' thinking to acknowledge valid criticism from the left.

@meertillman9718 sources or it never happened

@coolioso808 Vote for progressive candidates. Support a new party that is building itself from the ground up rather than virtue signalling every four years with no one even holding municipal office. And when you're left with a trolley problem where the less problematic option is voting blue then do that.

poll after poll shows most Americans want progressive policy yet somehow the DNC never realizes how to get people to actual get out and vote
