Western provinces? Nah, more like Alberta and maybe Saskatchewan if you want to stretch it. They're toothless either way. Separatism in Canada splits conservative parties and keeps Quebec obnoxious. That's about it. Nothing serious anymore. And Liberals support oil because there's money in it. They don't really stand for anything.

@yoredeerleader "Liberals" did not come up with universal healthcare, or universal health insurance (which is the actual thing we have). The NDP brought it to the table. That's where most of those things actually entered the political sphere. Before then it was coming from activists and unions. Giving credit to the Liberals erases the struggle involved to force them to do it. Most of that list is also from decades ago. Parties change. Moreover, none of it changes whether or not they actually stand for anything. Doing the right thing when it becomes political expedient does not mean they reliably uphold the underlying principles. E.g they have spent more time sabotaging universal healthcare than reinforcing it.
