@zacyoung1948 That's interesting. So why did they systematically round up all of their political opponents and then grant themselves absolute power, under which there was no political opposition?

They had to retract their lies against that voting machine company. Now they can't even say what they think was done. This is all it takes for them now. Their idiotic base doesn't even need a concept of criminal behavior to call for mass executions of political opponents.

@zacyoung1948 Not to lead the government, no. His party never actually won an election. Hindenburg gave him power to eliminate commies, who were also Hitler's political opposition, after a false flag attack. Then he never gave the power back and used it to give himself even more power permanently. You are mistaken.

@f3tsch906 Just sorta skipping over the part where they never actually won enough public support to get elected to a majority, and afterwards had to physically eliminate their opposition just to get one--I see. No, as I've stated already, they were only able to get power because their government was even more incompetent. The idea that it takes skill is what recently blindsided so many people to the rise of idiot-politics which brings the world closer to a revival of fascism.

@newbieprepper8451 hyperbolic lies are your only option

@newbieprepper8451 I'm saying, put up or shut up. You can't provide a valid source for the wild nonsense you write.

@newbieprepper8451 Offhand references =/= sources, and me expecting people to fulfill their burden of proof =/= being naive. It's the exact opposite of naive. And the fact that you can't back anything up suggests to me that you never bother to fact check anything. Which would explain why you regurgitate so many nonsensical reactionary talking points and misleading half-truths.

@f3tsch906 Ha...lol. The Nazis were not competent. It's just that the people who handed them power were even less competent.

@f3tsch906 Historically no. Their first attempt was laughably bad and the only reason they succeeded the second time is that the republic was completely broken, and Hindenburg was afraid of commies.

@f3tsch906 Also wtf r u talking about? The first coup attempt was the Beer Hall Putsch. The police just kicked their asses. I'm not aware of any strike relating to that.

@f3tsch906 You're probably getting the Beer Hall Putsch mixed up with the Kapp Putsch. The latter was orchestrated by the military. That a general strike ended that one is not incidental. It was literally the governments response and it worked. Hitler was not a central player in that one. I'm not talking about neonazis. Hitler never would have been in power if the Weimar Republic was not severely incompetent. He couldn't win an election. He couldn't overthrow the government by force. His strategies afterwards were really bad. Hindenburg was an idiot. Appeasement was stupid. The French military literally ignored what their own scouts were telling them. Most of western Europe had weakened their militaries drastically. Really it was a perfect storm of idiocy.
