NO it's not. Our history has nothing remotely similar to the situation between palestine and Israel. We did not constantly lob rockets into UK territory indiscriminately. We were too poor to do that and we didn't get much aid for our leaders to rob to do it either. They were too busy making a name for our produce and products abroad to be interested in continuing on a war. We had our own currency and made our own electricity, fuel, water, WE BECAME SELF SUFFICIENT. We didn't refuse to let any UK citizens live among us, nor did we bar other religions from coming here. We were/are a neutral nation.

@deankinsella8190 a tiny minority support palestine, NOT IRELAND supports palestine. Majority of right minded people support Israel for obvious reasons. There is no main reason the minority support palestine, they jsut fell for the palestinian and sinn fein propaganda. They didn't research at all for the truth, they didn't look up the history and they just assume there are similarities with Ireland and UK conflict and palestine and Israel. There is nothing similar at all, they are totally different.

Nothing is the same, most of the people i see on the streets of Dublin supporting hamas and palestine are young under 25's, THEY DID NOT LIVE IN THE TROUBLES, they don't even seem to have a grasp on the issues when you debate with them, they listen to sinn fein and hamas propaganda without looking to see if it's true or not, sad indictment of our educational system. they have lazy arguments to back up their views and opinions, have little or no reseach done on the issue, so it comes as no surprise that they can't answer simple questions about palestine, They don't appear to realize Israel is the only democracy over there, they are looking at an incorrect map, they don't know that human rights don't exist in palestine, nor are there any rights for women and children, they don't know about fgm, and they don't know about how LYGBT'S are treated in palestine. I could go on but you get the picture. IGNORANCE, or as jihadists call them 'useful idiots'. They are sleepwalking into a Isamic take over of Ireland further down the road, and a lot quicker than they can imagine.

wrong, we were not raised from birth to hate protestants, we were not shown cartoons of killing said protestants and how to slit their throats before we were 5 years old, we didn't chant nursery rhymes saying we will kill all the protestants and that they are lower than pigs and our livestock. We weren't taught in school that protestants deserve to be murdered, we didn't send our kids underground to make tunnels under the border, i could go on and on. it's simple, we got our freedom (as did palestine in 2005, ) BUT we went on to make our own money, we went worldwide with our products, improved them for the foreign market, started new industries with new products and we worked our way from poverty and dependency to independence and a Irish brand logo that carried an 'excellence product' badge. so not similarities at all. The Israeli's don't have to stir up the next generations hate, islamic parents do it for them. Islamic SUPREMACY does it for them. So they have no choice as the only democracy in the middle east to fight to keep it. yes i agree, the youth are too lazy to research and look for the truth among all the propaganda put about by sinn fein and palestinian supporters in ireland. There is no similarity really, it's different issues, different cultures, different people and different religions at play. We did not fire thousands of rockets into UK territory constantly for years, there were IRA terrorist attacks, yes, but the majority of Irish people condemned those and the politicians too. How they can think it's similar is hard to understand. We became self sufficient with out own water, electricity, energy, fuel and trade. WE were productive and produced our own IRISH PRODUCE which was received well world wide, we had our own money too.
