"statistically, they are more dangerous than a bear." Wrong. You are comparing the absolute best case scenario with a bear vs the worst case scenario with a man, as opposed to reality. Reality is that in 10 bears, 5 of them will attack if they are hungry or protecting their cubs. You walk past 100s of men every day who do absolutely nothing to you. Statistically, men are far safer than bears.

Even in the worst case scenario, at least you could fight and fend off the people... not so much with a wild bear, which would be a certain death.

It was you who mentioned guns when the question was simply about being stuck with either a bear or with a man... but if you have a gun, then it doesn't matter with whom you are stuck with since you can just shoot your way out from any bad situation. If the man also has a gun then it becomes a question of which one is the better shooter and congratulations, you have successfully derailed the whole conversation.
