@FujinKeima "Hitler.... wasn't left-wing at all, " Wrong. Hitler was a far-left, devout socialist. You cannot be an advocate for centralized planning and strong government controls without being a socialist. That's what made Hitler a socialist. He may have been to the right from the Bolsheviks, but he was still a socialist leftist as he believed in strong central government control. Hitler outright declared himself a socialist in Mein Kampf, just not the Marxist international or full Soviet type. He struggled with HOW to distinguish his socialism from the rest of the Marxist crowd.

@FujinKeima "It was all posturing, because left-wing/socialist rhetoric is popular among workers " It had nothing to do with popularity. It was all about wanting rival socialists to join yet another socialist ideology which had a more national focus.
2
@FujinKeima "Socialism isnt about government control, its about worker control " Wrong. Now you are conflating socialism with marxism. Socialism is an economic system where the collective (such as workers, guilds, the government etc.) either directly own or control the buildings and tools that make goods and services like farms and factories. This can be achieved through decentralized and direct worker-ownership, or through centralized state-ownership or control of the means of production.

@FujinKeima "But if you still think socialism is when "govt does stuff" in 2023, I dont think you mind not knowing whatre you talking about" Socialism can be when government owns or controls the means of production, distribution and exchange of goods.

@something1600 : Wrong. This can be achieved through decentralized and direct worker-ownership, or through centralized state-ownership or control of the means of production.

@AleshaM30 "Now I'm a solarpunk socialist. " So you just went from experiencing religious authoritarianism to supporting a political one. Nice. 🤦♂

"There is no such thing as Left-Wing Authoritarianism. Authoritarianism is an inherently right-wing and thus individualistic belief." You are not making any sense whatsoever. Authoritarianism is antithetical to individualism, since the whole point of authoritarianism is to get people in line with the generally accepted norms and ideas of the collective. Authoritarianism is inherently left wing. The fundamental differences between left-wing and right-wing ideologies center around the the rights of individuals vs. the power of the government. Left-wing beliefs are based on the idea that society is best served with an expanded role for the government. People on the right believe that the best outcome for society is achieved when individual rights and civil liberties are paramount and the role — and especially the power — of the government is minimized.

Whatever they have in Cuba, for one.
1
@Cia-Coo : ehh ... you were talking about modern left wing organization, yes? You asked an example. I gave you Cuba.
1
@Cia-Coo : I did say whatever they have in Cuba, so wasn't referring to the country, but their ruling socialist organization.
1
@Cia-Coo "Cuba is a democratic country and must follow democratic rules." Wrong. Cuba is under a socialist dictatorship build by the Castro family.
1
@something1600 : Nope. Every single socialist regime were a one-party dictatorship.
1
@Cia-Coo "Cuba is a democratic country and must follow democratic rules. " Wrong. They do not have a democracy. They are closer to Monarchy if anything, since the rule of succession is decided within the party and not voted in by the people.

"Fascism, and other forms of reactionary movements, often takes place when capitalism is in crisis. " Wrong. Capitalism has never been in crisis to begin with, and Fascism took place when marxism was failing under Lenin.
1
"Fascists are often funded by private interests and other capitalists, and political opportunists. " Because the alternative is worse. They are forced to choose between bad and worse options. The fact that the capitalists and entrepreneurs, faced with the alternative of Marxism or Fascism, in the past chose the latter, does not require any further explanation. They preferred to live as shop managers than to be "liquidated" as "bourgeois" by Marxists. Capitalists don't like to be killed any more than other people do.
