A recent article in the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Royal Children’s Hospital gender clinic co-head Tram Nguyen saying that, “When we look at student, young people population data, about a third will identify as non-binary.” If that is not evidence of an epidemic I don't know what is. I'm assuming that Australian data won't vary much from that in the UK, Canada, the USA and other countries where gender ideology has taken hold.

Thanks. That was an interesting explanation.

Then don't send your child to a school where you know that is required.

Sounds like some nonsense he threw out to see how many people would say, 'That makes sense' on the basis that it was Jim Carey who said it.

I don't understand the point of giving puberty blockers to a 16 year old who would be well into puberty or past it.
2
@JoJoGranum I'm surprised that your favourite character is Tonks. You seem to identify more with the Snitch.
2
If Contrapoints put as much effort into formulating a rational argument as he puts into playing dress-ups he might be worth listening to.
2
@lightningspeeds777 If you mean the video in which he idiotically compares JK Rowling to Anita Bryant (and Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene) - I have watched it and that is two hours of my life I'll never get back. The comment I made about him above stands.

As far as I know, the correlation between cannabis use and schizophrenia is hard to prove. It could be that a certain percentage of schizophrenia sufferers have used cannabis, but to say that that proves that cannabis use causes schizophrenia is like saying that ninety percent of schizophrenics have driver's licences, so learning to drive causes schizophrenia. Even if there were a proven correlation, it would not help sufferers to have criminal charges complicating their mental illness problems. Much better to treat all drug use as a medical issue rather than a criminal one.

Mr Tickle and Dr Upton have a lot in common. Not content with having the authorities side with them against a woman who says 'No', they actively try to destroy her reputation and livelihood.

That was an excellent conversation about an interesting range of subjects. Being an Australian I didn't take much notice of Brexit, apart from thinking that it would be a shame to give up the ability to easily travel between the UK and Europe. Tom Slater's comments about the attitude of Remainers towards those who voted for Brexit makes them sound very much like the pro-Voice academics and activists in our recent Referendum who, when faced with a truly democratic result, attributed all sorts or wrong think to those who did not vote their way rather than accepting that they had failed to make a persuasive case for changing the Constitution.
2
Keep it REALLY simple (and true). Trans women are men.
2
@robertmarshall2502 I'm sure you know that you won't get a response to that 😄

To be gender critical is THE heresy of the current age, in the West at least. A short while ago anti-Semitic remarks could ruin your career (hello Mel Gibson) but now even those are tolerated in politics and educational institutions. Try pointing out that the bloke in a frock is actually male and see how far your social and working life will progress from then on.
2
Do you mean the wife and ex-wives he cheated on?
2
Well said. I have a lesser problem with the biased reporting in the mainstream media than with their refusing to report or discuss certain issues at all. Their view seems to be that if they don't report it it ceases to exist.
2
LOL In Germany you can be fined an enormous amount or jailed just for pointing out that a man is a man - but sure, we're the authoritarian ones 🤣🤣🤣
2
Being stuck in the wrong body is not rare - it is impossible. We may not have the bodies we want, but none of us is in the wrong body.
2
The Olympics has always been, or pretended to be, a competition for amateurs - ie athletes who compete for the love of the sport, not for money. In reality the athletes who win in the most popular sports can expect to get lucrative sponsorship deals and big pay packages when they turn professional. Good question re where do all the funds go. A lot of officials with their snouts planted firmly in the trough, I suspect.
2
There are good serial killers and good sexual predators? Do you think you might want to re-read what you wrote and think about it?
2
Good interview, but one little niggle - 'virtuosity' is not the same thing as 'virtuousness'.
2
@briancox9357 The biblical good is both haughty and psycho. And man is allegedly made in his image.
2
There is quite a lot of nostalgia for the Cultural Revolution in China, with themed restaurants and Maoist artefacts helping fans to relive the good old days.
2
If they know that their gender doesn't match their biological sex why do they try to push into spaces from which people of their biological sex are excluded?
2
A lot of comments about the men who want to do this quite rightly pointing out how awful they are - but what about the women who hand their babies over to satisfy a man's fetish?
2
She didn't dismiss men wanting refuges - she said that if they think they need them they should start up their own, as women have done. She also said that she was happy to give advice on how best to do that.
2
I prefer 'Tired of Explaining Reality to Fatheads'. The problem with your version is the word 'exclusionary' - gender critical women don't want to exclude trans identifying people specifically - we want to exclude all men from spaces designated women only for the sake of privacy, dignity or safety.
2
It's quite difficult to ascertain what qualifications Forrest Valkai has - apparently he is a graduate student at the University of Tulsa, studying paleoecology and zooarchaeology. Not at all on the same level as Colin Wright.
2
Another great interview. Louise Distras is a fascinating guest. She had me a bit worried with 'nobody has ever asked me that (how I am)' - (thanks Meghan) - but by the time she said she wouldn't comment on puberty blockers because she doesn't know enough about them I was completely won over. I hope she'll eventually prevail over this nonsense.
2
Hopefully the full bench of the Federal Court will take a dim view of his not just accepting his win and being grateful for it.
2
The one and only Julie London! Justin who?
2
She is a journalist who helped to expose the scandal of the WPATH Files. She is an important addition to the discussion.
2
@MaricaAmbrosius Oh - you mean the 'activists' who send women rape threats and death threats? Well you have to admit there is a resemblance, but J K Rowling wasn't aware of that when she was writing the books.
2
I don't see any evidence of that. He has his own opinions and if he disagrees with a guest he does so politely. Can you give some examples from this interview of his 'always making excuses and exceptions'?
2
@robertmarshall2502 Something to do with fava beans and chianti?
2
The whole point of demanding 'individual assessment' is that it complicates matters so much with questions about guidelines and the possibility of legal action that the sporting bodies just give in and let the trans identifying men have their way.
2
We share 40% of our DNA with that of a carrot. I'd say it's what we don't share that counts 😁😁😁
2
@tea4two332 It is Andrew's job as a journalist to ask his guest questions and get his guest's perspective on the topic under discussion. He is not under any obligation to champion women's rights in the course of the interview.
2
If you want to run the risk of inducing seizures, breathing problems or death in your infant, by all means treat it with belladonna, which is certainly not a placebo. Most homeopathic preparations are made by diluting the active ingredient until there is no discernible trace of it left in the final solution. That is, they are basically water plus the idea of a cure - i.e. a placebo.
2
Of course the Algerian crowd was on his side - it's the only gold medal their country is going to get - I don't say 'win' for obvious reasons.
2
You are clearly someone who has never experienced a war.
2
Another good interview. I enjoyed your exchange with Dr Coleman about terminology. I also agree when she says that the State has a duty of care for prisoners and that the punishment for a convicted criminal should be deprivation of liberty and nothing more. It infuriates me to see people smirking about the 'unofficial' punishments they hope a convict will receive.
2
A sex mimic is exactly what a trans identifying person is. Why do you think a truthful term sounds disdainful?
2
'I respect your right to have your opinion, even though I disagree with it'. 'It's easy to respect my opinion because I'm right.' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
2
Malka Leifer has been extradited, tried, found guilty and sentenced to 15 years. Try to keep up.
2
Have you ever done an IQ test? How do you think you'd go if you had never learned to read or write and and no concept of the Western education oriented logic and reasoning skills tested?
2
I think that what is called 'toxic masculinity', on examination, is usually very immature masculine behaviour. Probably the same for whatever behaviour is ascribed to 'toxic femininity'. It is adults behaving as if they never left the school yard.
2
He has decided from her appearance alone that she is an unqualified DEI hire. He is not likely to listen to facts that don't confirm his bias. I agree with you regarding her and the mayor's poor judgement.
2
In Australia the Liberal Party is the conservative party. Labor is the left leaning party. The Australian Sex Discrimination Act was changed in 2015, under a Labor government, to allow this nonsense. I don't know which way Sall Grover leans politically, but Katherine Deves would certainly not have voted for this.
