I didn't see that. David said that he disagreed on a couple of points and Andrew invited him to say why, then they discussed their opposing views without descending into a shouting match. That's a good interview.

As far as I know, the correlation between cannabis use and schizophrenia is hard to prove. It could be that a certain percentage of schizophrenia sufferers have used cannabis, but to say that that proves that cannabis use causes schizophrenia is like saying that ninety percent of schizophrenics have driver's licences, so learning to drive causes schizophrenia. Even if there were a proven correlation, it would not help sufferers to have criminal charges complicating their mental illness problems. Much better to treat all drug use as a medical issue rather than a criminal one.

@ArachnerdGC I agree - I didn't need to hear it. I also liked his point about the difference between the ashtray joke and the hypochondriac joke.

@liberality Well, the end of Prohibition was no doubt popular with winemakers. So what? I do wonder about the economic effect of ending the 'war on drugs'. An awful lot of people depend on it for their livings, both on the legal and illegal side.
