  2. They already have . Putin stated that this was about NATO expansion and because of his actions , two countries close to Russia have joined NATO . The real reason was Russian expansion and imperialism and because Ukraine is fighting back and stopping that , russia loses there too . There is no strategic reason for russia to fight anymore , they won't be invaded by the west if they give up . Russian men are being slaughtered for nothing .
