Unfortunately yes, but there needs to be institutions again because too many psychotic refuse treatment & won't take meds consistently. Unfortunately again, any institutions run by the government are a mess & corruption reigns - patients are often mistreated & or abused by vicious staff members because of terrible hiring standards. I think in violent incurables advanced forms of lobotomy is an option. But the procedure has a terrible stigma attached to it from-once again- horror stories of it being used for unsound reasons originally. So, here we are. Risky drug therapy or freedom or prison. In so many of the cases on this channel I'm left wondering how people end up so psychotic in the first place. It seems to me that is the real issue that's the medical/psyche industry isn't too interested in & I think that in itself contributes to the fact that we seem surrounded by mentally ill people. The worst are in positions of power in my opinion. Anyone who challenges THAT these days gets persecuted as "deniers" or "anti"whatevers.
