@fhqjklasdf That is true South Korea has made at lot of progress. It's just the young people around the world who don't know Korea's history who didn't know the hardship that South Korea went through

@yaakovisaacs1882 Sad but true Just because K-pop and kdrama are popular nowadays days these kids all think that Korea is "so advanced" They're decades behind Japan in terms of innovation, and I don't even like the Japanese

@greentea8852 That may be the case But as I said, in order to actually get there, China needs to innovate more Right now it is still mainly mimicking what other countries are doing Take the entertainment industry for example. Just look at this excerpt from a recent news report: "Others said that they were "fed up" with how much Chinese producers plagiarised Korean content. Popular rap music competition show The Rap Of China, for example, has been criticised before for being a copy of South Korea's Show Me The Money" It's from a BBC news report dated 21st Oct about a Chinese show called Squid's Victory

@greentea8852 His comment is not completely wrong though Korea has produced very little innovation

@greentea8852 And the person you replied to didn't single out China, he mentioned several countries including China and Korea
1
@greentea8852 He was obviously exaggerating. Every country has invented something The bigger point that he's trying to make is, countries like South Korea, China, and India have not made too much innovations in recent decades China is comparatively better than South Korea and India in terms of innovation, but it is still nowhere near what a superpower should be like

@elanor2123 I'll do it on his behalf This is the headline from an article from The Guardian, dated 18 Oct 2021 "US ‘very concerned’ despite China denials over hypersonic missile" You will have to look up the article yourself, this channel deletes comments that contain external links Frankly, this has been widely reported in western mainstream media over the past few days. I'm honestly surprised that you are unaware of this

@greentea8852 Correct So there is nothing wrong with China learning (or what some people like to call copying) from others The important thing is for China to innovate so that it can transition from a follower to a leader

@elanor2123 There are no details given US cites reports, without going into details about the nature of these reports, that China test fired two hyper sonic missiles China on the other hand, via its foreign ministry spokesman, denies it and claims they were testing spacecraft technology I think as usual the truth is somewhere in between
1
@elanor2123 It likely varies from issue to issue For example, I find China's claim that the US deliberately sent infected athletes to China during the 2019 Military World Games to be extremely dubious Similarly, I find the US' claim that up to 2 million Uyghurs are imprisoned in Xinjiang is borderline absurd
