@potatomatop9326 Actually they weren't Japan's punching bag They were pushing back against the Japanese as early as 1939, in the battle of Changsha, two year before the attack on Pearl Harbour even happened China suffered early loses against Japan when the fighting was concentrated at the coastal areas, mainly due to China not having a functioning navy or airforce of its own But the moment the fighting shifted inland and Japan no longer enjoyed the advantages of its navy and airforce, the Japanese offense quickly stalled and the Chinese started counter attacking
