Regarding le main issue The problem isn't so much the ADs being a pain, but the ADs themselves are genuinely in a difficult position as well Even though they are literally an authorized dealer for Rolex, they don't actually get to order the stocks they want from Rolex Instead, Rolex decides when and what kind of stock they want to send to the AD, and the AD cannot decline to accept, or risk having the dealership revoked. They cannot even pick and choose which pieces they want and send back the ones they do not want. They just have to accept the entire package of whatever watches Rolex has decided to send them That is truth behind the mythical waiting list Rolex wasn't lying when they said it doesn't exist But it's the only way a dealer can manage the situation, when he himself couldn't tell you when exactly will he be getting a next piece of the Submariner/Pepsi//OP/whatever He'll get it when Rolex decides to send him one, at which point he'll have to decide who to offer it to Rolex is squarely the root of the problem, with their business practice Those who defend Rolex will say it's not their fault that demand outstrips supply True, but it's absolutely their fault for appointing more ADs than they can realistically supply
